Twelve teams have registered with the SLRFU in the inaugural club U:20 rugby 7’s tournament which will take place at the Race Course grounds on 26th Sunday.
This tournament is organized by the SLRFU in order to select the junior national 7’s team to compete in the under 20 Asian 7’s series which will be held in Malaysia 15th & 16th and Hong Kong 21st & 22nd August. Players who were born in 1995.01.01 can take part in this game which include players who played last year in the schools and are currently playing for clubs.

The triple champions of the schools’ league of 2014 are back in the Green shirts as the Isipathana team will be led by Senal Deelaka the Havelock’s flanker. Agoal rugby academy consist of 5 captains who played in their respective schools this year but interestingly Shamilka Kurumbalapitiya the Josephian full back will lead the team whilst Prasad Malinda who captained Science College last year will have another chance to play with his old mates who are in a great shape after winning the President Trophy finals recently.
