The match between CH&FC and Army which was held on 16th November, in the round 3 of Dialog Rugby League where Army won 17 -15. Almost 10 minutes before the first half, host CH scored a try but it was disallowed by the referee at the Royal Complex.

According to CH&FC “The ball was kicked by a CH player in open play, which bounced in the field of play and was heading towards the touchline. Before the ball crossed the plane of touch, the Army winger tapped the ball towards the middle of the field. The ball was then collected by the CH winger who went on to score the try. Referee Aruna Rankothge  after consultation with Assistant Referee Pradeep Fernando disallowed the try and awarded a free kick to Army on the 15m line where the ball was tapped from”

CH&FC has lodged an official protested on this to the SLRFU also complaining on assistant referee’s poor judgement where as if it is not a 5m throw the free kick should come in favor of CH and not Army.

According to the World Rugby rule formerly (IRB), the final result of the game will remain same.
