LB Finance led by all-rounder Lakshan Rodrigo defeated the star-studded defending champions MAS Unichela in the semi-finals while Teejay Lanka outclassed Commercial Credit in the other semi-final to book their place in the finals.
In the league segment, LB Finance ended up with 05 wins, 03 defeats and a no-result which put them in front of HNB, Teejay Lanka, Sampath Bank and DIMO. Holding the No. 4 position in the league table was an advantage to LB Finance in the knock out, as they advanced to the semis over Hayleys Group (No. 9) and HNB (No. 5), which were rained off.

Teejay Lanka skippered by one of the best fast bowlers, Sri Lanka ever produced – Lasith Malinga finished 06th in the league table with 03 wins, 03 defeats and 03 no results. In the Knockouts, the league position was an advantage to Teejay Lanka too, as they bypassed Sampath Bank (No. 7) & Kanrich Finance, which ended in no results.
Teejay Lanka will have a slight edge going into the finals due to the international experience of their players in Malinga, Dhammika Prasad, Sachithra Senanayake, Milinda Siriwardena, Suranga Lakmal and Kithruwan Vithanage but LB Finance have a few players like Rajeewa Weerasinghe, Lahiru Udara, Charith Sudaraka and Priyamal Perera who have stepped up their game in the recent games.
