Priyamal Perera, Jeffrey Vandersay and Vishwa Fernando, players who were part of Sri Lanka national squads in some of their most recent international assignments, have also been named in both squads.

Asela Gunaratne, whose career was hindered largely due to an untimely injury in 2017, has been recalled to the set-up with a place in the Sri Lanka ‘A’ One-Day squad. Since his recovery, he has been in and out of Sri Lanka development squads and also featured in the national squad a few times.

Sri Lanka national discards, left-arm spinners Malinda Pushpakumara and Prabath Jayasuriya have been named in a 4-man spin attack for the 4-day matches.

A notable newbie to the set-up is NCC wicket-keeper batsman Lahiru Udara. Despite playing two 4-day games for the Sri Lanka Emerging team in South Africa and Bangladesh, this is his first call-up for the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team.

This will also be the first assignment for Roy Dias since he was appointed head coach of the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team in May following the sacking of former coach Avishka Gunawardena.
