The 55th battle of the Brothers encounter between Isipathana College and Thurstan College is set to take place on the 23rd and 24th of February as it kickstarts March Madness, the “Big Match” season 2018.

Isipathana College and Thurstan College came together at Burgher Recreation Club as they hosted the media conference preceding the beginning of the 55th battle of the Brothers.
In an interesting turn of events, the hosts of the match have decided to take the same route as the Joe-Pete, bringing in a 60-over rule as the first innings will be restricted for both teams, in an attempt to be more result oriented.
Speaking to the media Chairman – Cricket Committee Thurstan College OBU S. Gunathilake mentioned the reason behind the decision “This year for the first time, this match will be played with a 60-over restriction in the first innings. The reason behind this is decision is to make it an interesting game, and we hope it’ll yield a result”
Furthermore, Captain of Thurstan College Nipun Lakshan mentioned his views on the game “We have a well experienced team and we are coming to win it and nothing less and we wish our opponents all the best”
Finally, Isipathana captain Ayana Siriwardena stated his intentions “first of all I like to take this opportunity to wish our arch rivals as we meet yet again. We know our capabilities and we will play to our strengths and not settle for anything less than a win”
The all-important game between the two teams will be held on the 23rd and 24th of February at the SSC grounds and will be telecast live and exclusively on ThePapare.com, Dialog TV Channel 1 and Dialog MyTV.
