RI, Leeds, OKI and Lyceum Nugegoda register wins on 3rd day

Inter-International tournament RI Leeds OKI and Lyceum Nugegoda

The third day of the Inter-international tournament started off with games from Group A, B and D taking place in and around Colombo. Here’s a brief look into the matches which concluded yesterday.

Colombo International School vs Royal Institute

The RI boys started their campaign by winning the toss and choosing to field first. Things looked really good for RI as they picked up some early wickets. CIS lost all their top order batsmen and were all out for only 100 in 28.1 overs. It was an easy target for the RI boys; their batsmen played exceptionally and they finished in style making, 101/5 in 16 overs.

Colombo Int. School: 100 (28.1) Humaid Cader 36, Akmal Hasan 30, Dilusha Nimsara 7/20.

Royal Institute: 101/5 (16) Rayan Rasal 42*, Matheesha Illanage 2/23

Result – Royal Institute won by 5 wickets


Burhani Serendib School vs Leeds International School

Leeds won the toss and chose to bowl first and their opponents under tremendous pressure with some great bowling. Burhani could only manage to get to 79 as they were bowled over in just 22 overs. Leeds surpassed the target in just 8.2 overs, scoring 81 and winning by nine wickets.

Lyceum International School Nugegoda vs Leighton Park International School

Lyceum won the toss and chose to start off the innings with the bat. They batted fearlessly to to make 237/6 in 28 overs. It was a quite a challenging target for the Leighton Park boys and they lost early wickets as the pressure built. Leighton Park were dismissed for 66 in 16.5 overs, giving Lyceum a 171 run win.

Result – Lyceum won by 171 runs


Wycherley International School vs. OKI International School

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Wycherley made a decent score of 171/9 in 30 overs. OKI, who have a strong batting line-up, played exceptionally well as they finished the game in style in just 21.3 overs, scoring 173/5.
