The 14th edition of the Classic Badminton Championships, organized by the Western Province Badminton Association (WPBA), will get underway at the Indoor Badminton courts of the Moratuwa University, Katubedda, Sri Lanka.
The three-day tournament will commence on August 4, and would be conducted in four categories: Men’s, Women’s, Girl’s and Boy’s, across 10 competing events as follows:
1. Under 14 Singles
2. Under 14 Doubles
3. Under 19 Singles
4. Under 19 Doubles
5. Novice Over 20 Single
6. Novice Over 20 Doubles
7. Novice Over 20 Mixed Doubles
8. Novice Over 40 Single
9. Novice Over 40 Doubles
10. Novice Over 40 Mixed Doubles
The tournament is an open tournament for shuttlers residing within the Western Province. All the matches will be conducted according to the rules and regulations of Badminton as approved by IBF and adopted by the SLBA.
Certificates and gifts will be awarded to those who turn up to be Winners and Runners-up of the tournament.
According to WPBA, applications for the 14th Classic Badminton Championships are now available for those who are willing to take part in the tournament.
