CR & FC ran in 10 tries to hand CH their 10th consecutive defeat beating the visitors 62-03 in the Dialog Rugby League game played at Longdon Place.

CR & FC made 9 changes to their team as coach McDougal rested a whole host of big names handing a chance for fringe players. CH & FC made 7 changes while former Trinity College captain Halique Wadood made the bench for the second week running.

Rohitha Rajapaksa kicked the off on a hot and humid sunny evening as the CH defense was shattered as early as the second minute of the game as Kavindu de Costa claved through the heart of the visitors defence to score. Prince Chamara failed to add the extras early on. (CR 05-00 CH)

Fariz Ali and Janith Chandimal failed with two shots at goal either side of two yellow cards to CR’s Kushan Indunil and Mithila Perera.

The lads from Maitland crescent were made to pay for the two missed penalties as Randitha Warnapura was in the near corner to finish a good set move by CR & FC. (CR 10-00 CH)

Hosts CR managed two converted tries through tight-head Samir Fajudeen and centre Rehan Silva as CH was reduced a man for a high tackle made by flanker Viraj Hewage as the first half drew to a close. (CR 24-00 CH)

The CR players duly obliged to provide more of the same as the first half scoring 6 further tries and conceding a single drop goal.

Charana Sendanayake was rewarded for good support play right from the kick off as the enormous prop forward dotted down beside the posts. Rizah added the extras with ease. (CR 31-00 CH)

Two former Josephian’s Taariq Salih and Charana Sendanayake scored try number six and seven to put the game to bed for the hosts. Rizah converted the sixth try of the game but failed with his sixth attempt. (CR 43-00 CH)

CH had the sting kicked out of them in the 55th minute of the game even though Flyhalf Roshitah Rajapaksa added a drop goal surprising the viewers and registering their first points in a tiring day. (CR 43-03)

Replacement scrum half did not fail to impress in little first team time he received as Avishka Heenpalla showed and went from near the base to score. Rizah added the extras with ease. (CR 50- 03)

Irfan Inzam saw yellow for indiscipline as CH were forced to end the game with 14 men.

Randitha Warnapura scored his second of the evening as the winger scored in the far corner for the host passing the 50 run mark. Kumara Samuel made a quick drop got but failed with the conversion. (CR 55-03)

Fellow winger Anuradha Herath put the cherry on the cake as he scored on the hooter to secure an easy win for CR & FC. Kumara Samuel added the extras with ease. (CR 62-03 CH)
