The 16 players both in the men and women were divided into two groups as under according to their positions and lots were drawn to see with whom each one would play in the 7 rounds:-

Each one had to play 7 matches in the preliminary rounds and the results are as follows:

Quarter- Finals Chamil Cooray beat.  MFM Fakir   25/13, 25/16

Udesh Chandima beat Dinal Senaratne      25/21, 25/21

M.Sheriffdeen beat Anas Ahamed         25/16, 25/0

Nishantha Fernando beat. Viraj Fernando 25/2, 25/18

In the semi-final round Chamil Cooray beat M. Sheriffdeen in a  thrilling 3 setter which Sheriffdeen almost won straight but owing to a careless shot he played he had to play the third set which Chamil pulled through with his long experience. Scores 13/25, 25/23, 25/4

In the second semi-final W.D.Nishantha Fernando beat. Dimal Senaratne  easily 25/7, 25/16

Finals Chamil Cooray won easily and comfortably over Nishantha Fernando although it went to 3 sets.

Women Quarter – Finals  J.Roshita bt. Lihini Angelica 24/25, 25/0, 25/7

Arosha Wickremasinghe bt. Kusalya Vidanaagama 25/10, 25/15

Pavani Yasodha bt. Buddhini Dias – 25/3, 24/25, 25/19

Chalani Liyanage bt. RADM Kanchanamala 25/16, 25/5

In the semi-finals the first one was played between Joseph Roshita where she beat Pavani Yasodha 25/1, 25/5 in two straight sets. While the second semi-final was played between Chalani Lakmali who beat Arosha Wickremasinghe 25/5, 25/0 comfortably again in two straight sets.    

Experience campaigner Joseph Roshita beat Chalani Lakmali easily 25/.19, 25/2 in two straight sets to clinch on to the women grand slam trophy for the year 2015.  

Highlight Plays  

There were a few upsets by the younger players but since they had to play 7 matches the experienced players were able to reach the Semi-finals and finals.
