It was a chaotic Monday at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association playing section where defending champion Medhira Samarasinghe saw defeat to Thisuri Molligoda and top seed B Suren had to walk home after being defeated by #8 seed Avindra Perera.
A veteran Visakian Tennis outfit retained their under 19 Tennis title for the year 2015 as the Visakhians went on to record a whitewash against Ladies College in the finals which were worked off at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts a short while ago.
Mowbray College Kandy caused the biggest uproar in the Under 19 division of the Inter School Tennis champions where they registered convincing wins against the top schools in the divison but did not have the luck to book a place in the semi finals.
Dunlop will team up with the Sri Lanka Tennis Association in an initiative to take the sport to the outstation areas of the country. The JTI program which is the international motive undertaken by the International Tennis Federation will be carried forward to almost all of the provinces in the country through the SLTA reaching the grass root level.
