The first round of matches in the SLC Premier League Tournament – Super Eight Stage ended last weekend with Moors SC, Bloomfield C & AC, NCC and CCC recording massive wins. 

Nineteen year old left arm pacer Binura Fernando produced a stunning spell of fast-bowling for SSC in the opening match day of the SLC Premier League Tournament – Plate on Friday as the bottom-ranked teams from the League Stage will battle out for the Plate championship. 

The SLC Premier League Tournament’s Super Eight stage began on 5th March (Thursday) around the country as the top 8 teams of this season started their 4-day competition to decide the best cricket playing club in the country.

Three of the top teams in the domestic cricket arena in Sri Lanka, Colts CC, SSC and Ragama CC failed to book their place in the Super Eight stage of the SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15 as the group stage finally came to an end on 1st of March. 

The final and decisive weekend in the SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15 group stage commenced on Friday in Colombo and its suburbs with many teams battling for their places in the Super Eight stage. 

The penultimate week in the group stage of the SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15 concluded on 22nd February with Tamil Union C & AC, Ragama CC and Bloomfield C & AC registering superb outright wins to ensure ups and downs of the group A points table.

Bowlers toiled hard for wickets during the previous weeks but during the first day of 6th weeks proceedings of the SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15, hard-working bowlers shined under severe hot conditions and on flat surfaces. 

Sri Lanka Ports Authority CC recorded their 4th outright win in 4 matches as the 5th week of the SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15 ended with Tamil Union, NCC and SL Army joining the party with outright wins yet Kithuruwan Vithanage’s record-breaking 351 was the main highlight of the weekend. 

Tamil Union middle order batsman Kithruwan Vithanage blasted an unbeaten 273 off 228 balls in a superb batting effort on the opening day of the 5th week matches of the SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15.

Lahiru Milantha returned to Sri Lanka with a bang after his scholarship in Australia as the 20-year old former Peterite stroked his maiden first-class century on the second day of the fourth week matches in the SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15. 

SL Ports Authority, Bloomfield, NCC, CCC and Moors registered outright wins in their week 3 matches in the SLC Premier League Tournament 2014/15 on Sunday.
