Sri Lanka women’s team will play an exhibition sevens game from 5.50 pm today at Havelock Park. Asia development rugby sevens is underway today in Chennai, India but due to the security reasons the Indian Rugby Football Union has requested that Sri Lanka should not take part.
This is a severe blow to the Sri Lanka Women’s Rugby team which has been training hard for this tournament with new coach Linda.
Therefore this game has been scheduled to take place before the CR and Havelocks kick off at 6.45pm. This is also designed in mind to give a bit more time for the rugby fans to return from Welisara after witnessing Kandy v Navy match.
