After 15 weeks of Dialog Rugby League action, there yet seems to be no real winner in the competition as the final match day will decide who takes home this year’s Dialog Rugby League crown.

The first week of the Super Round saw the heavyweights getting their form back as both Kandy Sports Club and Havelock Sports Club ready themselves for the crunch weekend ahead.

The results from the Super Weekend 1 were as follows:

Cup Championship – Havelock SC defeat CR & FC 21-7, Kandy SC defeat CH & FC 31-13

Plate Championship – Army SC defeat Air Force SC 29-25, Police SC defeat Navy SC 34-25

Accordingly the Points Table looks like this after the first weekend

The winners of the 4 games will play each other in the second weekend which will kick off on Friday March 1st and with the league decider scheduled for Sunday 3rd of March.

Kandy Sports Club will have to travel to Colombo for one more time this season since the team with the higher standing gets the hosting rights. Havelock Sports Club will come alive on Sunday for a league title clash.

The losing teams of the Cup championship, CR & FC and CH & FC will play on Saturday but there will not be any change in the positions. With a 15 point lead, CH & FC have cemented their 3rd spot in the Dialog Rugby League.

The Plate Championship will follow the same pattern with Army Sports Club getting the rights to host Police Sports Club this Saturday. This will be a crucial game for Army as they have a chance of finishing 4th in the table provided that CH & FC win their game on Saturday.

Police who have won back their playing style thanks to Emosi Vunivosa will be going all out to spoil Army’s plans but their intentions on climbing the table look quite slim.

Turning Police’s fortunes around – Emosi Vunivosa

For Navy and Air Force who lost their respective games over the weekend, it will be an opportunity to sign off the league run for 2018/19 on a successful note as they play their game on Friday.

It has been a disappointing tale for Navy, the team that finished 2nd last season now will finish 7th in the Dialog Rugby League.

The fixtures for the Super Weekend 2 is as follows:

1st March – Navy SC v Air Force SC at Welisara

2nd March – Army SC v Police SC at Welisara

2nd March – CH & FC v CR & FC at Racecourse

3rd March – Havelock SC v Kandy SC at Havelock Park
