The 12th Annual Trinity- STC Hockey Encounter will be held on Friday, 30th September at the Reid Avenue Astro Turf.
The 1st XI fixture for the Warden Neville de Alwis Memorial Shield will commence at 4.30 pm. In addition, the U-15 fixture will take place at 2.30 pm and the Old Boys fixture, for the Mirzan Ousmand Trophy will begin at 3.30 pm.
Inaugurated in 2003, this fixture embodies the spirit of the two schools, having shared brotherhood and camaraderie in many sports throughout history. S. Thomas’ College, Mt. Lavinia will host this year’s encounter. Last year’s encounter resulted in both teams being declared as joint champions, due to the bad weather conditions that prevailed.

Trinity College Kandy will be led by Kasun Jayasinghe and coached by Mr. Sumith Dissanayaka, with 14 years of training the Trinity Hockey team, under his belt. S. Thomas’ College Mount Lavina will be led by Javindu Pieris and the coaching staff includes Mr. Shane Ratnam (Head Coach) and Mr. B.L. Perera (Assistant Coach)
