It was the Visakha shuttlers that dominated the All Island National Schools winning the girls under 15 and under 19 titles in the tournament. Richmond College and Nalanda College took the under 15 and under 19 titles in the Boy’s category respectively.
The All Island Schools Nationals Badminton Championship which is played in a team collaboration consist of three singles and two doubles and if a team intends to register a win, they would need to win a minimum of three games either doubles or singles.
The Visakha Vidyalaya badminton players won the under 15 title and in second place was O.L.V. Convent Moratuwa. Museaus College took the third place title in the top division. Visakha also had the luck of getting the under 19 title as well when they defeated the neighboring Anula Vidyalaya in the final draw. Anula finished second while in third place was Srimavo Bandaranayaka College Colombo.
The boys division had a different twist as the stronghold from Galle, Richmond College came out on top in the under 15 division and In second place was Dharmaraja College Kandy. In the match for third place, Ananda College came out on top win the third spot.
The top division of the Boys, the under 19 contest was taken by the Nalanda College and Ananda College concluded at the second spot. Dharmapala College Ambalangoda secured the third spot.
