Prop forward/Hooker and veteran for the Havelock park club, Prasad Madhusanka will cross over to CH & FC for the upcoming Dialog Rugby Season.

Madhusanka’s career best season came in Dialog Rugby League 2015/16 where he managed to score 12 tries, finishing as the highest try scorer in the season. A highlight being the 4 tries he scored in a second-round clash against arch rivals CR&FC. He was even considered to be the fastest running hooker in the Division I category before the emergence of Dulanjana Wijesinghe.

The stellar performance saw him being called up to the national set-up when Sri Lanka toured Malaysia in 2016.

The former Isipathana player showed some excellent skills and mobility during the concluded season being an important cog in the Havelock wheel.

Madhusanka will scrum down alongside the likes of experienced campaigners Henry Terence and Sajith Saranga at CH. Together with his experience and game sense he is likely to start for the Maitland Crescent club as hooker.

CH & FC have depended on some young recruits in the recent past with former Antonian Pulasthi Dissanayake and Ravin Yapa doing the bulk of the work last season.

Another crossover from Havies to Maitland Crescent

With just a few more months to go for the 2018/19 Dialog Club …

Madhusanka now follows the path of his former skipper and teammates, Jason Melder, Sudarshana Muthuthanthri, Sudam Sooriyaarachi, Nishon Perera and Hirantha Perera who have all made the switch from Havelock Sports Club to CH & FC.

With the added power in the forwards pack playing alongside the likes of Muthuthanthri, Saranga, Aponso, Yapa, Melder and captain Yoshitha Rajapakshe, Madushanka’s inclusion will strengthen, compose and boost the CH team ahead of a big season where they are surely a force to be reckoned with!
