St. Anthony’s College, Wattala and St. Sebastian’s College, Katuneriya worked off their traditional fixture at St. Sebastian’s grounds in Katuneriya.
St. Anthony’s College was invited to bat first by the hosts who won the toss. A steady 206-run partnership between Avishka Tharindhu and Arindha Pasindu rescued St. Anthony’s College from a spot of bother to 281 runs at the end of their first innings. Avishka scored a rock-solid 109 runs while Arindha missed out on a century by just 3 runs. The two were completely in control on day one though they were eventually beaten early on day two.
In reply, St. Sebastian’s College managed only 192 runs in their first-innings. Dilshan Madushanka top-scored for St. Sebastian’s College with 70 runs while Don Romesh and Kaveesha Dulanjana both picked up 4 wickets each.
