The second round of the U17 Singer Division I cricket tournament kicked off today. Here’s a brief look into the matches which concluded during the day.

Mahinda College vs Ananda College

An unbeaten century by Kavindu Hansika and a good bowling performance by the bowlers guided Mahinda College to a convincing victory over Ananda College at their home ground. Ananda, one of the stronger sides this season, collapsed while chasing 200 runs and finally were bowled out for just 146 which gave Mahinda a 54 run victory.

A complete performance by the Josephians saw them registering a 73 run victory over Maris Stella College. Half centuries by Revan Kelly, Nipun Sumanasinghe and Cameron Guruge helped St Joseph’s post 286 runs and in reply Maris Stella was bowled out for just 213 runs.

A thrilling low scoring encounter between these two upcountry giants ended with a 24 run victory to Trinity College. Trinity College was bowled out for just 139 runs after being put in to bat first and in reply Dharmaraja College was bowled out for just 113 runs.
