Royal College VS St Joseph’s College

Josephians had a narrow escape from the jaws of defeat against the in-form Royal College. Royal posted 254 for 6 in their first innings and St Joseph’s were struggling at 77 for 7 at close of play. Match ended in no result.

Disadu Ranasinghe with a match bag of 9 wickets orchestrated an innings and 57 run victory for Royal College, their second for the season. Their strength in the bowling department is surely making them one of the strongest teams this year.

De Mazenod College performed well with both bat and ball to secure first innings points against Nalanda College at Nalanda College grounds today. The home side was cleaned up for just 111 runs and the visitors in reply posted 177 for 8 for their first innings.

DS Senanayake College VS Asoka Vidyalaya

It was a really competitive match between these two schools in group B. DS batted first and posted 205 runs before declaration. In reply Asoka could only manage 148 runs. DS had a lead of 57 runs and they added 33 more in the second innings and gave a target of 91 runs to their opponents. Unfortunately the rain intervened and Asoka was 22 for no loss at the close of play. However DS took first innings points home.
