After a 9-0 drubbing at the hands of India across all formats not too long ago, the Sri Lanka Cricket team came storming back to clinch a hard-fought Test series against Pakistan 2-0 a short while ago.

It has been a disappointing year for Sri Lanka, with losses coming against the likes of Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, who have generally been the Island Nation’s whipping boys over the years. The thrashing at the hands of India was hard to take and the team, management and board have all come under heavy criticism over the past few months. So naturally, this series win got many fans, pundits and past players talking.

As expected, many were quick to share congratulatory tweets to the team.

No doubt former Sri Lanka cap and current Ten commentator Russell Arnold was glad to have some good to talk about after a long spell of losses.

Safe to say the fans were happy too!

Man of the Match and Man of the Series award winner Dimuth Karunaratne wasted no time in giving a shout-out to his teammates.

Even the head of state had something to say!

But, there were those who weren’t so impressed with the two teams and their performance over the past two weeks too.

Nevertheless, to all Sri Lankans, whether they be players or fans or pundits, this win will be something to remember for the years to come.
