In a shocking turn of events, Trinity College coach Irishmen Eric Miller has been relieved from all coaching duties with effect from Saturday 7th May 2016.

This move comes after Trinity’s loss to Royal College a week ago in the first leg of the 72nd Bradby shield encounter.  Assistant coach Sean Wijesinghe has been appointed as interim head coach for the rest of the season. He will be assisted by Saliya Kumara who will be in charge of the three quarters.

Issuing an official communiqué, the Trinity College Principal Andrew Fowler-Watt applauded the efforts of the former Irish national in his efforts to uphold the Trinity and noted that both Sean Wijesinghe and Saliya Kumara will fill the shoes of Miller.

Miller who was named Neil Foote’s successor assumed duties in 2015 and his stint as coach has been cut short to a year and a half. Trinity was placed third last season in the league under his mentorship but lost the coveted Bradby shield. The actual reason for his dismissal is yet uncertain.
