Tim McCaskill hired as Sri Lanka’s fast bowling consultant

High Performance Manager at Cricket Victoria, Australian Tim McCaskill has been appointed as the Sri Lanka Cricket fast-bowling consultant ahead of the upcoming tour of West Indies.

47-year old McCaskill has not represented Australia at the highest level but played a few domestic seasons in the 90s before taking up coaching.

He will arrive in Sri Lanka in the first week of May and will take up his position alongside Head Coach Chandika Hathursingha and Head of Fast Bowling Rumesh Rathnayake to work with the fast bowlers ahead of the three-match Test series in the Caribbean Islands. McCaskill has been roped in by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) due to the recommendation of Hathurusingha.

McCaskill was instrumental in seam bowler James Pattinson’s return to the Australian national setup after a series of stress fracture injuries in 2015.

Sri Lanka’s preliminary Test squad will train at the High-Performance Center in Pallekelle for 10 days before they depart to the West Indies on 23rd May.
