Thisara Perera to lead Sri Lanka ‘A’

Fast-bowling all-rounder Thisara Perera will lead the Sri Lanka ‘A’ team in the upcoming three-match unofficial ODI series against Bangladesh ‘A’.

Perera is currently in the United Kingdom representing Gloucestershire in the English Domestic T20 competition and will join the team in time for the matches which starts on 17th July in Sylhet. All-rounder Dasun Shanaka has been named the deputy skipper of the side.

The ‘A’ team is currently in Bangladesh playing four-day matches. The one-day specialists will fly on Friday to join the existing squad members.

Veteran opening batsman Upul Tharanga has also been named in the squad to gain match-practice ahead of the five-match ODI series against South Africa which commences at the end of this month.
