MAS Unichela defeated the strong Commercial Credit unit by 7 wickets in their 25th Singer-MCA Cricket Tournament match at FTZ grounds in Katunayake.
Due to overnight rain, the match had a delayed start with the match-referee deciding to make it a 41-over affair. MAS Unichela skipper TM Dilshan won the toss and elected to field first on a gloomy day.

Experienced seamer Ishara Amarasinghe and young speedster Shehan Madushanka rattled the Commercial Credit batting lineup by sharing five wickets between them.
Thisara Perera fresh from a superb tour of Pakistan with the World XI came at number 8 and smashed an unbeaten 27-ball 52 with 5 sixes and 2 fours to help Commercial Credit reach 140 as he ran out of partners.
MAS Unichela cruised through to victory in 18 overs with veteran left-hander Mahela Udawatte smashing an unbeaten fifty.
With this win, MAS Unichela leapfrogged Commercial Credit to the top of the points table.
