Thevindu Dikwella breaks school record

Thevindu Dikwella of Isipathana College, Colombo scored a brilliant unbeaten knock of 108 off 28 deliveries to break the school record for fastest hundred in Under 15 cricket. The hundred came in the match against Royal College, Colombo in the Singer U15 division 1 tournament.

Isipathana College won the toss and elected to bat first at the Royal College grounds. Isipathana was bowled out for a paltry 127 (38.5) after an excellent bowling display by Thanika Dayaratne (5/43). In reply to the Isipathana first innings score, Thanika Dayaratne pulled another one out of his hat as he contributed 79 runs to the Royal 1st inning score of 272 (58.5). With the light fading away it was Thevindu Dikwella’s time to shine as he starting sending the ball to different parts of the grounds with ease scoring 108 in 28 balls which included 12 sixes and 8 fours. However the game ended in a draw and Royal College won first innings points.
