Northern Province, Western Province North, South and Central recorded wins on day two of the SLC Under 19 Provincial Tournament which was worked off today at various venues around the island.

North Central Province vs Western Province North

After winning the toss and batting first North Central Province struggled their way to a modest 145 all out in 42.3 overs at Moors grounds. Royal College left-hander Kavindu Madarasinghe and Vihan Gunasekara made useful contributions with the bat, while off-spinner Mahesh Theekshana and left-arm spinner Asel Sigera restricted the batting line-up with excellent bowling. In reply Maris Stella College top order batsman Ashan Fernando made 84 runs that included 12 boundaries and a massive six to chase down the target with ease.

Western Province South vs Central Province

Western Province won the toss and opted to bat first at the NCC grounds as they managed to post a decent 203. Right-handers Nuwanidu Fernando and Nipun Dilshan made their way to half-tons. In reply Central Province crumbled under pressure as right-arm seamer Tashik Perera completed a 5-wicket haul.

Eastern Province vs Western Province Central

Eastern Province won the toss and decided to bat first but they lostwickets at regular intervals and eventually were dismissed for 120 at the CCC grounds. Left-arm spinner of Lumbini College Vimukthi Kulathunga was the pick of the bowlers as he grabbed 4 crucial wickets to restrict the counterparts. In reply dashing right hander Santhush Gunathilaka and Iranga Hashan steered Western Province Central to a convincing 7 wicket win.

Uva Province vs Northern Province

Uva Province skipper won the toss and elected to bat first at Navy grounds Welisara. Uva Province were never able to get going as they folded for a below-par 134. Shashika Dulshan made a fighting 39, while G. Ratheeshan and V. Jathushan shared 7 wickets to restrict the opponents. In response, Northern Province powered their way to a commanding 8 wicket win as Umesh Lakshan stroked an unbeaten 77 runs with bat.
