Looking for the 10th outright victory in this season, Raveen Sayer and his lads managed to register a comfortable first innings win over Isipathana College Colombo in their Under 19 Division one schools cricket tournament which concluded at Colts grounds today.

Electing to bat first, Pathana players were haplessly bowled out for 163 runs on the back of Raveen Sayer and Duvindu Thilakarathne who picked up four scalps apiece. Bringing some hope to the hosts, Heshan Fernando top scored with 47 runs followed by Kalana Perera’s 31.

Opener Dilan Jayalath (77) and middle order batsman Shavindu Amarasinghe (53) led the batting line-up for Trinity as they posted a decent 237 on the board, getting the 1st innings lead to 74 runs. Lahiru Dilshan pegged back the visitors by claiming a six-wicket haul under his belt.

Isipathana College bounced back strongly and added a formidable 224 runs for their 2nd innings sparing three wickets. Sanjula Abeywickrama bludgeoned an unbeaten knock of 105 with Pramod Maduwantha assisting him with a well-constructed 62 to build up the total. Duvindu Thilakarathne once again grabbed another couple of wickets before the stumps on day-two.

The chaps from Kandy had to satisfy with the 1st innings honours at another stop in their successful cricket story this year.
