St. Peters, Prince of Wales and St. Thomas College emerge victorious in “Milo” under 18 ‘Fifteen a side’ rugby

Three games of  the Milo u18 fifteen a side rugby tournament was played at Thurstan College grounds today. St. Peters, Prince of Wales and St. Thomas College came out winners of the three matches played today. 

St. Peter’s College 22 beat DS Sananayaka College 00

St. Peter’s College took on DS Senanayaka College in the first match. St. Peter’s only manage two tries in the first half as DS Senanayake College kept the game within reach. St. Peter’s College upped the ante in the second half as they scored 2 more tries and completed the game with 4 tries, as they ran out winners 22-00.

 

Prince of Wales’ 35 beat Carey College 00

The second game was worked off between Prince of Wales’ and Carey College. Prince of Wales’ entered the game as favorites, and they proved it as they started strong and scored two converted tries in the first half to gain a 14-00 lead. Prince of Wales’ continued the strong show as they scored three more converted tries in the second half as they overcame the opponent

 

St. Thomas’ College 37 beat Lumbini College 00

The third and final game of the day was between S. Thomas’ College and Lumbini College. St. Thomas carried on the good form showed in the previous match and they managed 37 points in the match. The school by the sea scored 7 tries in the match as they cruised to victory over Lumbini College.
