St Peter’s College, Colombo in the Colombo South Educational Division, emerged Overall Boys Athletics Champions with 106 points and Visakha Vidyalaya with 99 points emerged Overall Girls’ Athletics Champions at the sports meet for the year 2014.
The Colombo Zonal Inter-School Athletics competitions was held at Sugathadasa International Sports complex under the patronage of Western Province Education Department’s Sports Director Lalith recently.
St Benetic’s College in the Colombo North Education Division emerged the Overall Boys Athletics Runner up with 99 points, and the Overall Girls Athletics Runner up was Musaeus Vidyalaya in the Borella Educational Division who scored 83 marks.
The most outstanding Boy Athlete for the year 2014, was Malique Khan at St Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya, in the Colombo South Education Division, who clocked 21.8 seconds at 200 m running event.
The most outstanding girl athlete was Vanosha De Silva of Colombo Vishaka College in the Colombo South Education Division, who clocked 26.1 seconds at the 200 m running event.
Borella Educational Division emerged the Overall Athletics Champions for 510 points and the Overall Athletics Runner up was Colombo South Education Division who scored 419 points at the meet.
Colombo North Education Division gathered 115 points and was placed third.
The fourth place was awarded by the Colombo Central Education Division who collected 61 marks.
