The first match of the seventh day of the Carlton Basketball Championships 2014 was held at the Hendry Pedris Basketball Complex between Old Benz and Avant Garde Basketball Club.

The First match of the sixth day of the Carlton Cup-2014 was held at the Hendry Pedris Basketball Court between Sri Lanka Air Force and Sri Lanka Under -18 Youth Team. Air women had to undergo the spectators curse when the youth team diminished all their hopes and etched the winning mark dismantling the experience side when the clock ran out. The second match of the sixth day of the Carlton Cup - 2014 was held at the Hendry Pedris Basketball Complex between Sri-Lankan Navy SC and HSC Blacks. Both the teams losing their first match of the season was in hunger for victory and was glad to be back on the winning road. When the clock ran down concluding four passages of plays the mighty seamen sailed away with victory leaving behind the home team HSC Blacks. At full time scoreboard read in favour SLN SC 74 - 60.

Carlton Cup 2014’, Sri Lanka’s premier Basketball championship will commence on the 16th of August 2014. HSC Blues Basketball Club, the Sports wing of the Hambantota Sports Club in collaboration with Tharunyata Hetak will host the tournament for the sixth consecutive time this year.

Sri Lanka’s under-18 Basketball team returned home after setting a Sri Lanka record as they beat Bangladesh by 126 – 36 after six years, with a margin of 90 points for the first time in history, yet failing to qualify for the under-18 International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia Championship in Qatar after defeating to India by 90 - 63.

Sri Lanka’s under-18 Basketball team will be leaving the country tomorrow, July 3, to Bangalore, India to participate the South Asian Basketball Championship which is the qualifying tournament for the 23rd under-18 International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Asia Championship in Qatar.

HSC dominated the Avant Garde basketball tournament when they etched both the Champions and second Runner-up trophies. The match for the third place of the tournament was played between HSC Blacks and Colombo Basketball Club. At full time score board read in favour of HSC Blacks 62-58.

It was a full house at Hendri Pediris Basketball Court for the Avant Garde Basketball Championship finals 2014. It was predicted to be an exciting finale since both the teams Avant Garde A and HSC Blues stepped in to the court after close finishes during their course to the finals.
