The 12th Annual Novices Swimming Championship 2019 is set to commence on the 22nd February, at the Sugathadasa Indoor Swimming Complex, marking the start to the Schools’ Swimming calendar.

Thousands of swimmers from across the island will come into play over three days for the ultimate Schools’ Novices title as well as respective individual titles ranging from Under 10 to Under 20.

Reigning champions in the Boys’ category, Ananda College will return with every hope to retain the coveted title. Last year, Dharmashoka College from Ambalangoda was just 3 points behind Ananda in the overall scores, handing Ananda a slim victory. This year too, the two teams will be the ones to watch out for, with St. Joseph’s, St. Peter’s and De Mazenod College also vying for Gold.
