Royal College v St. Sebastian`s College – Moratuwa

Royal took their first win of the tournament, dominating the court playing against St. Sebastian’s College as the game came to an end 73-29 points. The top scorer for St. Sebastian’s was Duane with 11 points while Rukshan Attapattu from Royal College scored 24 points for his team.

Royal took control of the game from the very start opting for an aggressive man to man defense which didn’t let their opponents anywhere near the ring to make an offensive attempt. The Royalists dominated the court both on offense and defense getting quick baskets one after the other through fast breaks. Rukshan from Royal was the key player for the team who did most of the scoring as well as got a majority of steals for his team which were then converted to successful offensive attempts.

St. Sebastian’s couldn’t keep up with the Royal offensive attempts and started to fall behind. The Royal College players completely dominated the second half of the game scoring nearly 40 points during the last 20 minutes.

Gateway College vs D. S. Senanayake College

Both teams were evenly matched as they went neck to neck all the way into the final quarter but unfortunately the game had to be postponed due to bad weather. With a mere 5 minutes left in the quarter and with DS in the lead the referees called off the match and it was decided to be replayed in better conditions.

Two more games scheduled to be played during the weekend were postponed due to bad weather.
