AIS remain unbeaten

As the inter-international basketball tournament continued,  Asian International School faced-off against Elizabeth Moir International School and the game ended with a score of 47-67 in favor of Asian International School.

AIS had first possession of the ball but failed to score. EM drew first blood as they converted a shooting foul into points at the line. The beginning of the game was filled with action as both the teams dominated proceedings end to end. But as the clocked ticked on AIS began to take a small lead as they powered through to attack the rim. The AIS players played to showcase their individual talent rather than scoring through assists.

First-Quarter: Asian International School – 26 Elizabeth Moir International School – 13

AIS employed a man-to-man defense not giving the boys from Moir any room to score. The deficit began to increase in the quarter as the boys from Moir began to miss their jumpers which they preferred over driving in. AIS backed up their offense well by leaving one player on the other side to guard in case they lost the ball and Moir went for a fast break. AIS was more than double the Moir score going into lemons.

Half-Time: Asian International School – 44 Elizabeth Moir International School -20

The Moir players started off the third quarter with a shot from downtown attempting to reduce the deficit. It was the shooting fouls which were converted into points gave the edge for AIS. AIS had the advantage over the Moir players when it came to agility. Arnold Brent using his height advantage went on to dunk and please the crowd in one of these converted fast breaks.

Third-Quarter: Asian International School – 57 Elizabeth Moir International School – 36

The lads from Moir scored first once again and it seemed that they had tightened the screws in their defense. EM attempted to score by creating a mismatch and going for a jump shot which was quite successful as they outscored AIS on this last quarter catching up to them 21 to 10. Although their luck ran out just as they were settling into the game and getting their momentum as the final bell was rung and AIS won by 10 baskets.
