The 1st semi-final of the All Island U-17 ‘B’ Division Basketball Championship was played at the Gateway College basketball premises. The hosts Gateway College (GCC) took on Joseph Vaz College (JVC) in the game as the home team emerged victorious at full time, 83-23.

It was all one-way traffic as GCC were in total control of proceedings from tip-off. The hosts scored points at will on the offensive end and were locked in on the defensive end as they leaked only 6 points per quarter on average. GCC were the better side on both paper and action, superior in size, speed, skills and outscored their opponents by 60 points to seal their place at the finals.
