The 103rd edition of the Sri Lanka Junior and Senior Nationals Tennis Championship kicked off on the 18th August at the hard courts of the Sri Lanka Tennis Association.

The tournament is recognized as the most prestigious event in the Sri Lankan Tennis calendar, and beginning a new tradition, ThePapare.com joins hands as co-sponsors of the event.

The Junior categories of Boys and Girls Under 12 and 14 Singles events took to courts to kick off proceedings, along with some first-round matches from the Under 18 categories.

Boys U12 Singles

In what seems to be one of the biggest turn outs of the event, Matheesha Nettasinghe top seeds a 128-man draw in the Boys U12. Nettasinghe is followed by Thilina Dissanayake who will work his way up from the bottom half of the draw. Round 2 was worked off at SLTA today and both top seeds managed to advance to Round 3.

Girls U12 Singles

The Girls U12 draw is a solid 64-piece knockout with Hasali Gajaba leading the pack. Ruvi Rajakaruna Lewkebandara is seeded second in the tournament. Click here to view the full draw.

Boys U14 Singles

Much like the younger age group the 14 and under category is heavy with 128 boys in the mix. Anuth Wijesinghe and Apna Perera are top and second seeds for this years’ Junior Nationals. Round 3 of the category will commence tomorrow. Click here to view Round 2 Results.

Girls U14 Singles

Tania Doloswala takes the top seed in the Girls U14 Singles category as the Asian Games star Anjalika Kurera starts her run at the title from the bottom half as second seed. Round 2 of the draw will commence tomorrow at the SLTA courts. Click here for full draw.

Boys U18 Singles

The Boys U18 draw was kicked off yesterday with Kaveesha Rajapakse taking the reigns as top seed and already claiming his spot in the quarterfinals. Second seed Vibuda Wijebandara too, finds himself in the quarterfinals that are scheduled to be worked off tomorrow. Click here to view full draw.
