Sri Lanka team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament so did the opposition side just before the final. With the giants India missing out on the tournament due to their mockery at the SAG 2016 games it was an easy grab for the islanders if they drew the cards right.

As predicted both the teams were top notch in their defense and it was not an easy ask to swish the nets with the pressure of final game landing on all their shoulders.

Sri Lanka started the game on the right course as they led the game at the end of the maiden ten minutes by four points. With the early lead Sri Lanka paced their game well and structured it for the rest of three quarters.

Even though Nepal did try everything up their sleeve, it was just not their day on the court. Missed shots outside the arc and unconverted fast breaks left them hanging off the trail. Their catch-up game in the third quarter was good but it wasn’t the best.

Sri Lanka led the game for the rest for the quarters 20-13, 17-16 and 23-09. Erandi Gallage top scored with 14 points.

Sri Lanka beat Maldives in their opening encounter reaching three figures on the scoreboard 103-39. It was an all around performance from the team. Playing the entire bench, coach T.A.Ahamth tried all his cards and had a clear perspective on who the ace was and who wasn’t. Kumarine Sliva top scored with 25 points.

Lanka lioness met Bhutan in the second game and it was nothing but a repeat of the first game as they reached the three figure mark on the scoreboard once again 112-31. Kumarine Sliva once again top scored with 19 points.
