Sri Lanka Emerging ended the second day the of the 2nd four day game against South Africa Emerging XI with 98 runs on board for the loss of one wicket in their first innings after the hosts declared their innings at 588 for 5.

Ackerman reached his century in no time and he carried on to make 156 runs before he was dismissed by Sanjaya Chathuranga. The pair put on a massive 208 runs for the 4th wicket which gave the South Africans the upper hand in the game.

21 year old Mogotsi carried on to reach his double hundred and remained unbeaten on 205 when Skipper Leus De Plooy decided to declare the innings. It was hard work for the Lankan bowlers in batting friendly conditions as they just could not find any rhythm with the ball.

Lankan batters were under pressure after some mediocre performances right throughout the tour, however in this innings the opening pair of Hashan Dumidu and Pabasara Waduge posted 59 runs for the first wicket. Waduge was dismissed for 32. Lahiru came in and joined Dumidu to guide the Lankans to stumps without losing any more wickets.
