Colombo Super League 2017 continues in the C Division as Old Lasalians and Sappers were beaten by University of Colombo and Old Senanayakians.

University of Colombo vs Old Lasalians

University of Colombo took honours against Old Lasalians after a neck to neck game with a score of 60-57. Adeeth Pushpitha was the key player for UOC who managed to obtain 29 points during the match, while Mohomed Sulhaan scored 21 points for Old Lasalians.

Even though University of Colombo took first possession of the ball, Old Lasalians went on to draw first blood. However, as the maiden quarter ended University was leading by 1 point but the continuation of strong offensive strategies by the Lasalians enabled them to reduce the deficit as the first half ended. Yet, the scoreboard read 34-33 in favour of University of Colombo.

Coming into the second half of the game, both teams employed a full court defensive plot while taking the maximum opportunity near the line. Yet, as Old Lasalians lost the consistency in scoring in the penultimate quarter they started trailing behind University of Colombo. Though, 18 points were added in the final ten minutes Old Lasalians failed to turn the tables around as they did not put a stop to offensive plays of the University of Colombo.

Sappers Vs Old Senanayakians

The following game went in favour of Old Senanayakians with a score of 56-42. H.Nimanthe, with a score of 17 points was the top scorer for Sappers while Vishwa Deshan was the main offensive player for Old Senanayakians who scored 16 points.

Old Senanayakians was fortunate enough to obtain the lead by a mere point in the maiden quarter. However, the aggressiveness and speed of the Sappers helped them to obtain 12 points in the second quarter and as the first half ended the scoreboard read 23-22 in favour of the Sappers.

Senanayakians took a 6-point lead in the following quarter which gave them the opportunity to increase the deficit as they wanted to turn the tables around. They maintained the same energy in getting a higher score as they settled into the game compared to the first half. Also, Senanayakians managed to dominate the game in both offensive and defensive aspects in the second half which helped them to secure their victory with a lead of 14 points.
