The South Africa U19s had their sweet revenge when they beat the Sri Lanka U19s in the second youth ODI to clinch the three match ODI series, 2-0 today(03rd).

The South Africa U19s had their sweet revenge when they beat the Sri Lanka U19s in the second youth ODI to clinch the three match ODI series, 2-0 today(03rd).

The Proteas coming off the tri-series final loss a few days back to the visitors, put up another convincing display as they beat the Lankans comfortably by 49 runs.

After winning the toss and batting first, the hosts crawled their way to 220/8 in their allotted 50 overs with Matthew Breetzke(68) and Raynard van Tonder(61) making half centuries. 

Nipun Ransika’s tour only got better as he put up another classy display of fast bowling picking up 4/39 while he got good support from Hareen Buddila,  who chipped in with a couple of wickets.

The Sri Lankan’s never got going in their run chase as they lost wickets at regular intervals to be bowled out for 171 with more than 5 overs to spare. 

Vishwa Chathuranga looked good during his short stay with an almost run a ball 40 while Ashen Bandara made 39 for the visitors.

Sri Lanka U19s will take on the hosts in the third and final youth ODI on the 5th of February in Oudtshoorn.
