The inter-school age-group Swimming Championship 2013, organized by the Thurstan college in association with the aquatic sports union was held from 1-3 January and concluded today at the Thurstan college Swimming complex.
The championship was sponsored by Coca Cola.
Sirimavo Bandaranayake Girls’ school won a hard battle with Viharamahadevi emerge the overall girls championship while Royal College Colombo defeating mainly Ananda College Colombo took the overall boys championship.
Musaeus College, St. Joseph’s Girls School Nugegoda emerged the 3rd and the 4th place of the overall championship respectively.
Meanwhile Thurstan College the organizing school emerged the 3rd of the overall boys championship while 4th place was taken by the Sugathadasa Swimming School.
Mrs. Olivia Gamage, former director of sports, Mrs. Sumedha Jayaweera, Vice Principal Thurstan College, Dr. Douglas Perera, Chairman Organizing Committee attended on the awarding ceremony on the final day.
