The under 15 Singer Trophy Inter-schools’ Cricket Tournament is set to restart on the 2nd of August 2017 after a brief hiatus due to school examinations. 16 out of 81 teams in the nation advanced from the group stages which was played in league basis across 11 groups.
Thereafter 40 teams moved to the 2nd round which was also played on a league basis across 8 groups of 5 teams each. The winner and runner up of each group advanced to the round of 16.

With no surprises the defending champions and runner up of last year’s edition have booked a place in the round of 16. The limited over format will be applied to the knockout stages whilst the Parabola system along with the Duckworth – Lewis system will be in play for games affected by adverse weather.
Trinity College (A) Kandy, St. Joseph’s College (A) Colombo, St. Sebastian’s College (A) Moratuwa, Vidyaloka College Galle, Prince of Wales College (A) Moratuwa, Mahinda College (A) Galle, Royal College (A) Colombo and Mahanama College (A) Colombo advanced to the pre quarter finals as their group champions.
