Thomas’ College shines again; this time with both bat and ball as he managed to stroke a fine century and take a 4 wicket-haul against Dharmaraja College.

St. Joseph’s College, Colombo vs Isipathana College, Colombo

Group A fixture between St. Joseph’s College and Isipathana College concluded today in a draw at BRC Ground but the first innings points were won by St. Joseph’s College. Isipathana College resumed day two on 66 runs for 1 wicket and were bowled out for 172 runs.

Thevindu Dickwella (51) and Ravindu Rathnayake (34) top scored for Isipathana College. Left-arm spinner Salinda Senevirathne was the pick of the bowlers for Joes as he grabbed 4 scalps for 24 runs.

St. Joseph’s College began their second innings 18 runs ahead and posted 118 runs for 9 wickets when umpires called stumps on day two. Thevindu Dickwella starred with the ball picking up 4 wickets for 28 runs for Isipathana College.

Traditional fixture between St. Anthony’s College and Ananda College ended in a draw today at St. Anthony’s ground in Kandy. St. Anthony’s College resumed day two on 84 runs for 4 wickets and declared their innings at 173 runs for 9 wickets. Theeksha Gunasinghe starred with the bat scoring 68 runs for the  Antonians.

S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia vs Dharmaraja College, Kandy

Group C fixture between S. Thomas’ College and Dharmaraja College commenced today in Kandy. After winning the toss, Dharmaraja College skipper invited the opposition to take the first lease of the wicket. S. Thomas’ College posted 256 runs for 6 wickets before declaring the innings in the 52nd over. Kalana Perera, who set a new Sri Lanka school record with the ball few day ago, showed his batting credentials scoring an unbeaten century for the Thomians.

In reply, Dharmaraja College was struggling with the bat as they finished day one on 72 runs for 8 wickets. Left arm seamer Kalana Perera, who picked up 16 wickets in the last match, took 4 scalps for 27 runs. In addition, Dellon Peiris picked up 3 wickets for 8 runs for the Thomians. Match will continue tomorrow for day two.
