Here’s a round up of the matches which took place in the SLC Tier B Premier League Tournament today. 

Navy SC vs Negombo CC 

Negombo CC ended day 2 just 129 runs behind Navy SC with 8 wickets in hand at Welisara. Play resumed with Navy SC 256 for 6 on board. Kusal carried his bat through the innings to remain unbeaten at 121 runs. He found good support from former Peterite Savin Gunasekara who chipped in with a valuable 60 to help Navy reach 342 runs.

In reply, Negombo were 213 for the loss of 2 wickets at stumps with Prasanna Jayamanne and Akeel Inham unbeaten with half centuries under their name

Kalutara TC vs Galle CC

Eranga Rathnayake’s unbeaten 133 helped Kalutara TC post 379 for their first innings against Galle at Moratuwa. Gayan Sirisoma did the bulk of the bowling for Galle and he was rewarded with 7 wickets in the first innings.

In reply, Galle were in a spot of bother at stumps with only 195 runs on board for the loss of 6 wickets. Chanaka Wijesinghe remained unbeaten on 81 for Galle CC.

Police SC vs Kurunegala YCC

Police SC ended day 2 with their noses in-front against Kurunegala YCC at the Welagedara Stadium. Police resumed play with 224 for 5 in board for their first innings. They lost their last 5 wickets for just 46 runs. Keshan Wijerathne picked up a 5-for for Kurunegala.

In reply, the boys from Kurunegala were bundled out cheaply for 156 runs with Nimesh Vimukthi taking 5 wickets for Police. Dhanushka Dharmasiri scores a valuable 67 for Kurunegala.

At stumps, Police were 112 for 3 in their second innings.

Air Force SC vs Panadura SC

Air Force registered an emphatic victory by an Innings and 97 runs against Panadura SC. Air Force who resumed play at 68 for 1 went on to make 309 all out for their first innings. Dulash Udayanga top scored with 96 while Hashan James and Roscoe Thattil chipped in with 59 and 48 respectively.

Panadura who came into bat for their second innings were bamboozeled by some brilliant bowling from the airmen. The innings just lasted 13.3 over which is the shortest all-out innings by balls in the history of SL domestic cricket. Shohan Rangika claimed 4 wickets without conceding a single run to become only the 2nd Sri Lankan to achieve this feat. However, Praneeth Rathnayake was the highlight of the innings with his 5 for and interestingly, Panadura scored all their runs against his bowling.
