Shakib Al Hasan, who has been on the sidelines since sustaining a finger injury in the Asia Cup, will return to international action as Bangladesh captain in the home series against the Windies.

Liton Das, the opener, Nazmul Hossain Shanto, the middle-order batsman, and paceman Shaiful Islam, who were all part of squad for the two-Test series against Zimbabwe, have been dropped for the first Test against the Windies.

Soumya Sarkar, who dished out impressive all-round performances in the National Cricket League in Bangladesh in October, has been recalled to the national squad, and Naeem Hasan, the uncapped spinner, has also been drafted in.

Taijul Islam, Player of the Series against Zimbabwe, and Mushfiqur Rahim, who notched up his second Test double-century in Mirpur, feature prominently in the 13-member squad.

Bangladesh drew their two-Test series against Zimbabwe 1-1 after bouncing back in Mirpur after losing the Sylhet Test.

They will take the Windies on in a two-Test series, the first of which will start in Chittagong on 22 November.
