St. Sebastian’s College “B”, Moratuwa advanced to the semi-finals of the inter-schools Under 13 Division II Tournament by defeating Dharmasoka College, Kandy and Royal College, Colombo in the top 16 stage. Both games ended with the Sebs winning on bonus points.
In the pre-quarter finals against Dharmasoka, the Sebs managed to restrict the boys from Kelaniya to 140 all out. Ashen Silva and Bishen Perera were the pick of the bowlers for the Sebs, picking up 5 wickets between them while K. Malshan made a fighting 59 for Dharmasoka. In reply St. Sebastian’s posted 93/4 with Mahen Silva making 27.
They came up against Royal College in the quarter finals and made a commanding 220/6 in 55 overs. Kushan Herath, K. Lakshan and Bishen Perera all made half centuries as the Royal bowlers were worn down. In reply the Royalists could only manage 88/7 with Sanesh Fernando capturing 3 wickets for just 11 runs.
