Sri Lanka all-rounder Sachith Pathirana has been appointed as the spin bowling coach of Sri Lanka U19 team by SLC.
Former Trinitian who hasn’t retired from international cricket, will take up his role in the youth team from the 1st of October.

Pathirana who was nominated as the front runner for the position, has led the Sri Lanka U19 team and holds the record for most wickets for Sri Lanka in the U19 level.
The 30-year old has completed the level 03 coaching program conducted by the ICC academy and already has the experience as the head coach of Baduraliya Cricket Club.
Pathirana represented Sri Lanka in 18 ODIs and 5 T20Is, but haven’t been part of Sri Lanka squad since 2017 series vs India.
