S Thomas and Isipathana demand neutral venue for K/Os

In a latest development, both S. Thomas’ College and Isipathana College have formally protested in writing to the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Associations (SLSRFA) that they are not willing to play the President’s Trophy Knockout tournament at Royal Complex if and when they come up against Royal College as it is unfair home advantage to one school.

S. Thomas’ is scheduled to take on Royal College in the second semi-final on Sunday 3rd July 2016. Mr Denzil Darling Secretary of the SLSRFA confirmed to ThePapare.com that this match will be played at the Royal Sports Complex.  Furthermore, at the pre-tournament media conference held last week, it was confirmed that all matches will be held at the Royal Complex.

However, according to the S Thomas rugby committee, they have formally sent in a protest on the matter to the SLSRFA.

ThePapare reliably learns that Isipathana College has also protested in writing to the SLSRFA that they will not be in agreement to play at the Royal Complex if they come into the finals of the tournament against Royal next weekend.
