Reliable sources at the Longdon Place club confirm that the signing of Rowan Perry has been completed and he will arrive on Wednesday to join the training squad.

Perry took the attention of the Sri Lankan masses when he represented the Walker CML Vipers in the Sri Lankan Super Sevens that was worked off during the month of August. Perry was born in Sri Lanka when his parents were in the country on vacation giving him the status of being eligible for Sri Lankan citizenship.

The open side flanker, Perry made his debut to international rugby representing the Canberra Vikings and later represented the Australian Under 20’s in the Junior Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. His stint in the national jersey earned him a position in the ACT Brumbies wider training squad in 2015 for the Super Rugby season while training with the Vikings.

In 2016, he made the switch from the Vikings to the New South Wales Country Eagles in the Australian National Rugby Championship and has led the team to several victories while gaining fame to be compared alongside Wallabies flanker Michael Hooper

Perry’s journey to Sri Lanka will be important, as he will also be eligible to turn out in the national jersey since his original birthplace is Sri Lanka.

He will be joining Ben Mc Dougall’s CR & FC team in practice and will be hopefully expecting to make his debut in the red jersey in the coming weeks.
