Richmond College vs St. Aloysius College

The Richmondites came out looking to chase down the Aloysian total of 117 and avoid a 1st innings defeat. Richmond’s batting looked better than their opponents’ but Hareen Buddila of Aloysius sent 7 Richmondite batsmen back to dressing room for 60 runs, restricting Richmond to 159.

Aloysius started their 2nd innings right after tea on day 1 facing a 42 run deficit. Avindu Theekshana and Ravishka Wijesiri of Richmond broke Aloysian hearts by picking up 4 wickets each and restricting Aloysius to 123. Navindu Nirmal made a fighting 45.

Chasing 82 runs to register an outright win, Richmond openers, Dhananjaya Lakshan and Chamikara Hewage finished the match with ease, helping their team secure their 5th outright win for the season.

Mahinda College vs Mahanama College

Batsmen from both teams were put under huge pressure by the bowlers. The Mahanama 1st innings was limited to a total of 169 by the Mahindian Bowlers. But they were unable to take the wicket of Ishara Rashmika of Mahanama, who scored an outstanding half century for his struggling team.

The Mahindians came out to bat chasing a target of 169 to record a 1st innings victory. Ravindu Menaka contributed 66 runs to the board to lead the Mahindians past 169; they scored 171 and declared giving way to Mahanama to start their 2nd innings.
