Ravindu Sanjana scored a scintillating 159 as St. Aloysius’ College turned the tables around on Gurukula to record an innings and 34 run victory while Thurstan College beat St. Benedict’s College on first innings as the game drew to a tame draw.

Resuming from 22 for 1 overnight at Galle International Stadium, St. Aloysius’ were led by Ravindu Sanjana’s bat as he amassed a scintillating 159 from 187 balls with 20 fours and 5 sixes to lead the home tea, to a remarkable 340, eventually declaring for the loss of just 6 wickets. Captain Navindu Nirmal managed 41 while fellow Sri Lanka U19 counterpart Ashen Bandara scored 37 .
In reply, Gurukula was bowled out for a mere 76 off 30 overs as Hareen Buddila bowled a magical spell picking 6/30 and Kavika Dilshan 2 wickets for just 5 runs as St. Aloysius inflicted a damaging defeat on Gurukula by an innings and 34 runs.

Thurstan vs Benedicts
Thurstan College played out a tame draw against St. Benedict’s College, even though the hosts managed a first innings win at Thurstan College main grounds.
Batting first, the Thurstanites declared at 256 as Sawan Prabash (75), Nipun Lakshan (62), and Charana Nanayakkara (57) all managed excellent half centuries.
Mahesh Theekshana attempted to take St. Benedict’s to a first innings lead with a fine century but it was all in vain as the lads from Kotahena were bowled out for just 193 in 70 overs.
The game drew to a close on day 2 as Thurstan College were on 83 for the loss of 2 wickets in their second innings.
